Clyde A. Smithson, 71, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Woodbury Health and Rehab.  He was a native of Cannon Co.

He is survived by his sister, Meriam Smithson of Woodbury; Brother, Hobert & Betty Smithson of Paris, IL.; Niece, Conchita Watts of Murfreesboro; Nephews, Ken Smithson of Woodbury, Mark Smithson of Milton, Stacy Smithson of Columbia, SC., Brett Smithson of Neosho, MO. and Monte Patterson of Murfreesboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton B & Irene Williams Smithson and his brother, Wilburn Smithson and sister, Vivian Patterson.

Mr. Smithson was a member of the Iconium Church of Christ, a retired gas station owner and car salesman.  He loved to play golf.

Graveside Services will be 1 pm Friday, January 13, 2017 at Hopewell Cemetery, Coffee Co. with   Bro. Herb Alsup officiating.  Pallbearers include Ken Smithson, Jake Smithson, Al Smith, Monte Patterson, Mark Smithson and Andy Bryson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harold Jennings and Charlie Lawson.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hopewell Cemetery.

At Clyde’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral, only graveside services.
