Wilma Doris (Smith) Markum

Wilma Doris Smith Markum, 89, of McMinnville, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Ascension Saint Thomas Stones River. Born in Old Hickory, she was the daughter of the late Henry R. Smith and LaVinnia Davenport Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Lesa (Mark) Davis of Woodbury; and Special Friends, Terri & Kevin Gess and their family and Tammi & Brian Shaffer and their family. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Markum; and siblings, Gladys Smith, James Smith, Berlie R. Smith, Carl Smith, and Kenneth Smith.

She was a member of the Smith Family Quartet and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodbury where she was heavily involved.  She was in the prayer ministry and also sang in the choir.  She enjoyed working in her flower garden, sewing in her earlier days, and cruise ins and car shows with Jimmy.  She loved her family and was even a teachers aide for Lesa when needed.  Doris retired from Farm Bureau Insurance.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Woodbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Woodbury with Bro. Dean Anderson and Bro. Justin Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Blues Hill Cemetery.
