Vida (Sanders) King

Vida Sanders Duke King, age 77, of Beech Grove passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025 at her home.  She was born in Cannon County on January 8, 1948 to her parents, the late Savage F. Sanders & Opal Simpson Sanders.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, James Robert King of Beech Grove; Son, Christopher Jason Duke of Manchester; Step-Daughter, Dana King of Manchester; Brother, Larry (Arlene) Sanders of Woodbury; Friend and Caregiver, Fancie Ely.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Vivian Morton & Maureen Mooneyham.

Vida was a Christian and a Registered Nurse for 52 years.  She loved to crochet, playing the piano and singing with Christ Ambassadors while serving the Lord.

Funeral Services will be at 11 am Wednesday, May 28, 2025 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Hinkle officiating.  Interment will follow at Cherry Cemetery.  The family will receive friends for the visitation from 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Woodbury Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Billy Simpson, Bobby Simpson, Junior Brandon, Nathan Sanders, Dustin Sanders, & Jimmy Simpson.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Bob Vilotte.
