Shelah Bratton Osment

Shelah Bratton Osment, 86, of McMinnville passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025 at St. Thomas Rutherford. Born in Cannon Co., he was the son of the late Selmer and Hassie Mai Smith Osment. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Louellen Blevins Osment; his son, Jeffery Osment and his sister, Macon Wade.

Mr. Osment is survived by his children, Timothy (Vicky) Osment of McMinnville, Michael (Angie) Osment of Taylor, MI., Sandra (Rob) Meyers of Fowlerville, MI.; grandchildren, Meghan (Brandon) Daly, Cody Meyers and Matthew Meyers; 2 great grandchildren, Eli Meyers and Riley Daly; and siblings, Joe Osment of Smithville, Ernest Osment of Smithville, Roy (Lela) Osment of Woodbury and Patsy (Peanut) McBride of McMinnville.

A member of the North Hill Church of God of Prophecy, he loved being with his church family. A retired Steel Mill worker, he enjoyed singing with the Old Time Gospel Singers, gardening, farming and playing guitar.

His family will receive friends Friday, August 15, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 16, 2025 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Blues Hill cemetery.
