Sandra Kay (Pope) Brandon

Sandra Kay Pope Brandon, 72, of the Burt Community in Cannon Co., passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Born in Rutherford Co., she was the daughter of the late Marion Pope and Geneva Boyce Pope. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randy Brandon; her son, Marion Paul Brandon; siblings, Earl Pope, Diane Pope Guthrie and Steve Pope; and nephew, Jeff Counts.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Darci (Bryan) Hendren of Smyrna, GA.; granddaughter, Kinsley Marie Hendren of Smyrna, GA.; brother, Kevin (Tonya) Pope of Woodbury; sister, Carol Counts of Augusta, GA.; sisters-in-law, Sandy Brandon of Woodbury, Amy Pope of Smyrna, Evelyn Jones of the Burt Community and Janice Pope of KY.; brother-in-law, Gary Guthrie of Murfreesboro; 7 nieces, Jamie (Jamie) Hudson, Amy (Charles) Holtz, Risa (Bryan) Randolph, Jana (Dale) Flagstaff, Gina (Billy) Bradshaw, Ashley Pope, Candace (Mark) Bond; 7 Nephews: Jason (Kelli) Counts, Chris (Rachel) Gutherie, Bobby (Beth) Pope, Boyce Pope, Carter Pope, Heath Pope and Dillon Pope. Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews.

Sandra was a member of Burt Baptist Church and retired from Middle Tennessee State University, where she served as a secretary in the Communications Department. Her interests included sewing, cross stitching, and watching Hallmark movies,” Murder She Wrote”, and westerns. Sandra cherished being a mother to Darci and took pride in welcoming her granddaughter, Kinsley.

The Brandon family will receive friends Friday, May 22, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Woodbury Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 P.M. at Cateston Cemetery with Bro. David Moody officiating.
