John 15:12 records Jesus saying, "This is my commandment, that ye love one another as I have loved you." Having the last name, LOVE, opened many conversationswith others for Sue.  After you go to know her, you realized Sue is LOVE.  Sue's life was a model of love and generosity.  She was a very giving person.  She first gave of herself then of her resources, especially to her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and Debbie and Crystal.

Sue was employed by the State of Tennessee for 38 years.  During her tenure, she had many job titles and responsiblites.  Her first job as working in the House of Representatives.  Sue had a beautiful handwriting which was put to good use writing the bills that became Tennessee State Laws into ledgers.  A highlight of her careet was when she passed the CPS exam and became a Certified Professional Secretary.  Throughout the 38 years, Sue worked closely with high ranking officals, gaining their friendship and respect because of her excellent work ethic, superior communication skils, and of course, her loving and glowing personality.

She used her influence with those in power to lift others up.  One example was the numerous people she helped get jobs.  Matthew 5:16 tells us:  "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."  When we remember Sue's life, everyone she met was drawn to her shining light.  In her praise, prayers, and daily walk she constantly asked the Lord for guidance and favor, always giving Him praise for any honor or recognition she received.  The life Sue led drew many people to Jesus, especially the troubled youth she served at Spencer Youth Center and woodland Hills.  During her tenure there, she encouraged students to visit the library to read, especially the BIble and the Tennessee Blue Books.  She made sure that when a student was released from the facility, they were given a Bible to take with them.  This is just a snapshot of the many ways Sue loved and put that love into action.

Each family member here has memories of receiving her love through her words and her deeds. I hope that you will find comfort in sharin g those memories with each other.  Debbie was sharing her memories with Jo during the past week.  Debbie shared about her memory of receiving the "Sue boxes." I understand that each family member and probably friends also have received "Sue boxes." Never mention that you may want something or you were going to get a Sue box.  Debbie recalls the years Sue delivered the boxes in her gray camper truck.  She would raise the hatch on that truck, grab her yard rake, and rake those boxes forward - so much energy, so full of life and love, so excited to see the pleasure of her gifts, so generous and giving.

Sue and her mothehr had a special bond, and she often spoke of her wonderful mother and her love for her family and children.  Sue had a beautiful heart of gold like her mother.

She loved the lake.  Growing up, there were many good times with family participating and camping.

She loved her family but to properly eulogize Sue, one must mention her extended family in the Nashville area.  As mentioned, Sue was involved in politics most of her life, partcipating in many political campaigns through the years.  Two of her favorite places to be were the Nashville Palace and John A's on Music Valley Drive, with the owners of these two establishments being dear friends of hers.  Here Sue had many friends in the Country Music industry.  One of Sue's closet friends being Roni Stoneman of the Stoneman family and Hee Haw fame.

Sue we love you and God speed till we meet again.
