Preston Mayne "Red" (Jr.) Young

Preston Mayne "Red" Young, Jr., age 72, of Woodbury passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at his home. 

He was born to his parents, Preston Young, Sr. & Purley Mai Mayo on October 24, 1947 in Cannon Co.  Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Shirley Mears Young of Woodbury; daughter Keisha Young (Jeremy Harnish) of Woodbury; Grandchildren, Amy Young, Logan Young, Luschin Harnish, Lavada Harnish, & Shannon Harnish; Siblings, Kenneth (Linda) Young, Peggy (Aubrey) Gray, & Wilma (Jimmy) Underhill, all of Murfreesboro.  Several nieces & nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Young was preceded in death by his son, Shannon Young; and his brother, W.J. Young.

Red was a member of the church of Christ and worked for the State of Tennessee & was retired from the Co-Op where he was a welder.  He enjoyed fishing & gardening which included growing tomatoes & making kraut, and making his wine, but really loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 6 PM Wednesday, January 8, 2020 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. David Dodd officiating.  Visitation will be from 9 AM until 6 PM at Woodbury Funeral Home.  Following the funeral services, per Red's request, he will be cremated & his cremains will be buried with his son, Shannon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodbury Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
