Nora Christine Carter

Nora Christine Carter, age 83, born October 17, 1941 to Johnny B. & Hattie Parker Lack in Cannon County passed away January 11, 2025 of an extended illness at her home in Woodbury.

She is survived by stepson, Russell Carter of Murfreesboro; Granddaughter, Chelsea Smith of Woodbury; Great Grandchildren, Grace Arnold & Charles Keith Grizzle both of Woodbury; Daughter-in-law, Ronica Arnold of Woodbury; Step Granddaughter, Jessie Arnold of Woodbury; Step Great Grandchildren, Zeke, Tyra, & Yessie all of Woodbury; Special Niece, Rosemary Corley of Woodbury; and Special Friend, Iris Bogle.  Many nieces & nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Keith Smith; Siblings, Lee, Edward, Willie & Norman Lack, Nellie B. Gann, Gertrude Vance, Betty Upchurch, & Violet Coppinger.

She was retired from the Colonial Shirt Factory and was the former owner of Carter's gas station and owned a restaurant.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who she loved with all of her heart.  She also enjoyed going to church at Plainview Baptist Church to worship and hear the Word of God.  She will be missed by all.

Funeral Services will be at 2 pm Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Womack & Bro. Roger Hindman officiating.  Interment will follow Riverside Gardens Cemetery.  Her family will receive friends for the visitation from 12 noon until time of the service Tuesday.
