Nolan Blair Obituary

Nolan Douglas Blair, 83, of the Short Mtn. community passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born in Cannon Co., he was the son of the late Norman and Jimmie Melton Blair. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gayle Blair.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Young Blair of Short Mtn., children, John (Jean) Blair of St. Louis and Evelyn (Brad) Harrison of Milton; grandchildren, Grant Blair, Blair and Brynn Harrison and brother, Bill (Sue) Blair of Murfreesboro. Several cousins also survive.

Doug was a dedicated Christian and served as a veteran in the United States Army Air during the Vietnam War. He worked as an Air Traffic Controller until his retirement in 1993. Doug was passionate about hunting and fishing, and enjoyed watching baseball and softball, particularly when his grandchildren played. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father and friend, whose memory will be honored by those who knew and loved him.

His family will receive friends Saturday, May 16, 2026 beginning at 12 Noon. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. David Dial officiating.
