Mary Wiley (Morris) Gunter

Mary Wiley Morris Gunter,84, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the Webb House of Smithville.  She was a native of Cannon Co.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Keith) Slatton of Smithville and son, Stefan (Elizabeth) Gunter of Sht. Mtn. Community; grandchildren, Stoney Harmon, Crystal Schulz, Shiney Gibbs, Mariann and Will Gunter; siblings, Shirley St. John of Nashville, Linda Bedwell of Woodbury and Leon Morris of Murfreesboro. Several great grandchildren also survive.

Ms. Gunter was preceded in death by her parents, Gribble Morris and Esta Lee Bogle Morris; her husband, Howard Gunter; children, Stashia Evette Gunter and Ethan Hans Gunter; grandson, Rocky Harmon; Siblings, Loretta Dodd, Jeanette Barrett and Cling Gribble Morris.

A member of the Gassaway church of Christ, Ms. Mary Wiley was a seamstress who enjoyed sewing; she was a teacher’s aide and loved to watch sports but her favorites were baseball and softball.

Funeral services will be 4 pm Sunday, September 26, 2021 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Hancock officiating.  Interment will follow in Gunter-Grizzle Cemetery.
 
Visitation with the family 4 pm until 8 pm Saturday, September 25, 2021 and Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 12 noon until her time of funeral service.
