Martha Ann Davenport Francis, 88, of Woodbury passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025 at her home following an extended illness. Born in Woodbury, TN., she was the daughter of the late Ray and Irene Cummings Davenport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Francis; her grandsons, Robert Mark Nichols and Steven Ray Wimberly.
She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Miller and Raycell (Robert) Wimberly both of Manchester; grandson, Robert Michael Wimberly and great grandchildren, Ryan, Blake and Raylan Wimberly.
Ms. Martha was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ and began working at the age of 13. She informed Dr. Adams that she was 16 in order to become his nurse tech. Additionally, she worked as a hairdresser and a cook at Cannon Co. Jail, where being a cook was her preferred job. As an only child, she shared with others and did not exhibit selfishness. She participated in antiquing and auctions and valued time spent with her family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 10, 2025 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Gardens.
Pallbearers include Kirk Davis, Brad Hall, David Wilson, Shane Gannon, Greg Mitchell and Robert Wimberly. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Smithson, Teddy Taylor and John Francis.
Her family will receive friends, Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.
