Marilyn Leone Cowen Santala began eternal rest in Woodbury, Tennessee on February 10, 2021, aged 85 years. She spent her last moments peacefully and surrounded by family. She was born on July 14, 1935 in Pratt, Kansas. Leone was preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, Herman Dwane "Sandy" Santala DVM, having been married on September 23, 1956 in Cullison, Kansas. Leone graduated with a BS from Kansas State University and taught school for several years before starting a family and supporting her husband in his Veterinary Medicine practice in Ness City, Kansas. Leone was fond of genealogy and history and was a PEO member along with several other clubs and organizations. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheri Lynne Santala Fenton and son-in-law, Robert Fenton of Woodbury; Granddaughters, Holly Nicole Fenton and her husband, Stephen Borden of Atlanta, GA and Kathryn Lucille Fenton Pereira and her husband, Joshua Pereira of Murfreesboro; and Great Granddaughters, Eliana Irene & Aria Leone Pereira of Murfreesboro.
Due to illness, the Santala family will have a memorial service at a later date.
