Marie (Barrett) Groom

Marie Barrett Groom, age 80, of Nashville passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 surrounded by her family at her home.  She was born to her parents, the late Charlie & Willette Mathis Barrett on September 1, 1944 in Cannon County.

She is survived by her daughters, Tina Michelle Harris of Cane Ridge and Janie (Tony) Francis of Newport; Siblings, Jean & Ray Melton of Thompson Station, Joyce & David Fuller of Estill Springs, and Brenda Witty of Woodbury; Grandchildren, Chelsea Marie (William) Swader, Wesley Tyler (Jessie) Harris, Michael (Candy) Francis, and Carolyn Danielle Francis.  Nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also survives.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Groom; and her siblings, Charlotte Wimley and Charles Barrett, Jr.

Marie was an avid vegetable and flower gardener and loved vacationing to Florida every year.  Marie was a graduate of the Auburntown Class of 1962 She was a member of the World Outreach Church and was a Sales Specialist for Castner Knott for 32 years.

Funeral Services will be at 3 pm Wednesday, May 28, 2025 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Associate Pastor Bob Bush of World Outreach Church officiating.  Interment will follow at Prosperity Cemetery.  Her family will receive friends for the visitation from 12 pm to 3 pm Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Woodbury Funeral Home.
