Lydia Soto

Lydia Soto, 83, of the Short Mountain community passed away at her home Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Born in Salinas, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Guillermo Soto and Lucia Colon.

She is survived by her children, Migdalia Ortiz, Ileana Ortiz, Waleska Ortiz, Hector Ortiz, Febe Ortiz, Lydia Ortiz, Thelma Ortiz, Eric Ortiz, Omayra Soto and Danny Soto; siblings, Dinalda Soto and Luis Soto. Also surviving are 33 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and people who loved her.

Ms. Soto had a passion for singing, reading her Bible, and writing in her journal. She also enjoyed sewing. She cherished her children and held a deep affection for her all of grandchildren. Ms. Soto lived a fulfilling and joyful life, she loved her family to be together and in unity.

Graveside services will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, May 2, 2025 at Green Acres cemetery with Father Marneni Bala Showraiah officiating.
