Judith (Davis) Sissom

Judith "Judie" Davis Sissom, age 72, of Woodbury, Tennessee passed away on March 2nd, 2023.  Originally from Franklin, she was born on July 30, 1950 and was the daughter of Ruby Davis Martin and Tucker Davis.  She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Ed Sissom of Woodbury; and children, Stephanie Long of Nashville, Sara Barnett of Nashville, John Noble Long of Murfreesboro; grandson, Phoenix Gillies; granddaughters, Ruby Barnett, Kathrin Long; and sister, Carolyn Brown of Columbia.  Several nieces and nephews also survive. A son, Daniel, preceded her in death.  She is also survived by her extended family, Kelly & Josie Sissom, Dek & Melanie Sissom, and Britan & Jon Huddleston of Woodbury.

Early in her career, Judie was an interior designer for Ethan Allen, and Edwards Interiors.  She quit work to be a homemaker and raise a family.  Later, she returned to work as a pharmaceutical rep, and then as a sales manager for a janitorial and chemical supply company, where she was eventually promoted to Vice President.

Judie enjoyed cooking, gardening, and reading.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She loved her Church, and served in numerous capacities, including times as president of the youth groups and women's auxiliary.  

Funeral Services will be at 1 PM Saturday, March 4, 2023 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Lynn officiating.  Interment will follow at Riverside Gardens Cemetery.  The family will receive friends for the visitation from 11 AM until time of the service.
