Jewell Dean (Baltimore) Smithson

Jewell Dean Smithson, 93, of Woodbury passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025 at St. Thomas Rutherford hospital. A native of Coffee Co., she was the daughter of the late Richard S. Baltimore and Rose Magnum Baltimore.

Mrs. Smithson is survived by her children, James Richard (Sue) Smithson of Murfreesboro, Stephen Smithson, John Smithson and Debbie Smithson all of Woodbury; grandchildren, David Smithson of Murfreesboro and Robert Smithson of AZ; brothers, Jerry Baltimore of Knoxille and Donald Baltimore of Huntsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Smithson, her children, Stanley and Kathy Smithson and her siblings, Howard Baltimore, Richard Baltimore, Jr., Philip Baltimore, Ruth Bailey and Marseille Herman.

A member of the New Hope Church of Christ, she was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, cooking and canning for her family.

Her family will receive friends Thursday, January 9, 2025 after 11:00 A.M. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Ralph Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the Midway cemetery.
