James “Jim” Randall Hunley, 84, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 at St. Thomas Rutherford. Jim was born in Nashville, TN., the son of the late William C. Hunley and Eva Brown Hunley.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bettie Fuqua Hunley of Murfreesboro; his children, Kelly (Tony) Savage of Old Hickory, Randall (Tamara) Hunley of Brentwood, Stephanie (Rusty) Hailey of Brentwood, Kristi (Pat) Street of Clarksville, Kevin Hunley of Murfreesboro, Tammy (Paul) Hankel of Rock Island, Terri (Gordon) Hobgood of Gallatin and Missie Larimer of Woodbury and his beloved dog and sidekick, Sadie. He was also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jim retired from Nashville Metropolitan Fire Dept after working for 39 years. He thoroughly enjoyed trading and making deals. Often his family called him “Sanford” because of it. Jim also liked fishing and woodworking. He loved the Tennessee Titans but most of all he loved being with his family making memories.
Jim’s wishes were to be cremated and his ashes be put with his family at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
