James Mason Layhew, 64, of Bradyville, TN., passed away at St. Thomas Rutherford, Thursday, May 2, 2024. A native of Davidson Co., he was the son of the late Irvin and Rebecca Preston Layhew. Also preceding him in death are his siblings, Alice Baxter, Earline Barnett, Jimmy Layhew, and Earnest Layhew, II and nephews, Bobby Burnett, Jr. and Johnny Layhew.
He is survived by niece and nephews, Sheila (Tim) Geesey of Woodbury, Donnie (Lynn) Freeman of S.C., Mike Burnett and Troy Burnett both of Murfreesboro, Earnest Layhew, III and Charles Layhew both of Atlanta; his girlfriend, Carol Lee of Bradyville; son, Irvin Layhew of Nashville and sisters, Patsi Frazier of FL. and Kathy Rice of Murfreesboro.
James was a roofer and enjoyed playing guitar and working on cars.

His family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2 PM, Tuesday, May 7, 2024 with funeral services beginning at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Riverside Gardens cemetery.
