James Robert King, 75, of Beech Grove passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at his home. Born in Rutherford Co., he was the son of the late James Clyde King and Zola Manus King. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vida Sanders King; siblings, Rita Kay Gambill and Howard Carl King; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Vivan (Donald) Morton and Maureen (William) Mooneyham.
He is survived by his daughter, Dana King; stepson, Jason Duke; brothers, Bobby King and Gary King; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Arlene Sanders; niece, Patricia King and nephews, TJ King, Nathan Sanders and Dustin Sanders. Also surviving are several other nieces and nephews.
James was an Ordained Evangelist and a member of the Come and Dine Gospel Church. He worked as a tool and die maker at Tridon and Betterbuilt. He enjoyed doing missionary work, woodworking, going fishing and hunting. He was also a member of the musical group Christ Ambassadors.
His family will receive friends, Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 27, 2025 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Rev. Weisley Frazier, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Cherry Cemetery.
