James Denver Black, 77, passed away February 13, 2025 at his home in the Short Mtn. community. Born in St. Louis, MO., he was the son of Donald Robert Black and Clorse Marie Parker Black.
Mr. Black is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna Mooney Black of Woodbury; children, Amy Van Patten and her husband, Tommy of Murfreesboro and Brandon Black and his wife, Kristy of Lebanon; grandchildren, Joseph Hayes, Kailey Hayes Gunner and Caitlin Van Patten; great grandson, Kason Hayes; and his siblings, Barbara Allen of Springfield, MO., Joann Winter of St. Louis, MO. and Pat Hendrixson of Campbellsburg, IN. Mr. Black is also survived by his local friends and buddies at Roxie’s.
A member of the Church of Christ, he was an over the road truckdriver. A memorial service will be held at the Black cemetery in his hometown of Salem, MO.
