Helen Faye Tenpenny, of Murfreesboro and formerly of Woodbury passed away : Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Centennial Medical Center. She was a native of Rutherford Co., Tn.
She is survived by her husband, Lytle Tenpenny of Murfreesboro; stepson, Mark Tenpenny of Auburntown; step grandchildren, Abby (Colton) Tuck of Auburntown and Paige (Lane) Francis of Morrison; siblings, Stanley (Carlene) McCullough, June (Lee) Mears and Joyce (Ray) Watson all of Murfreesboro and special thanks to her special friend, Jo Anna Medlen. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Tenpenny was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Gladys Travis McCullough; daughter, Melanie Tenpenny; her siblings, Geniece Todd and Jewell McCullough and her parents-in-law, Woodrow & Essie B. Tenpenny.
A member of the Baptist church, Helen was retired from Chromalox. She enjoyed collecting antiques and baking. She was known for her homemade cookies especially on holidays as they made their way all across the country. Every year, her family looked forward to her delicious poundcakes that she would bake for them on their birthdays.
Graveside services will be 1 pm Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Riverside Gardens with Bro. Dave Brown officiating. Pallbearers include William Lovvorn, Keith McCullough, Terry McCullough Steve Todd, Glenn Adams, Walt Adams and Tim Alexander.
Visitation with her family will be from 4 pm until 7 pm Friday, October 8, 2021 at Woodbury Funeral Home, 615-563-2311.
