Glenda Francis (Brown) West

Glenda Francis (Brown) West was born on February 21, 1944, in Gainesboro, TN, and she passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at her son’s residence in Smithville, TN, at the age of 79.

She was the daughter of the late Robert M. Brown and the late Etta Clyde (Jackson) Brown. She was a retired business owner of River Road Market and a resident of Gainesboro, TN. She was a Christian and enjoyed gardening, painting, crafts, writing poetry and children’s short stories (one was published in 1997), spending time with family, and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Leisa Ann Young, and two brothers, Alton Brown, and Jimmy R. Brown.

Survivors include her daughters, Melinda Johnson Edmonds of Reno, NV, and Kimberly L. Young of Gainesboro, TN, and her sons, Jessie West of Gainesboro, TN, and Jimmy Bond (Amy Bond) of Smithville, TN. Her grandchildren included Amanda Keeling and Zachary Edmonds; both of NV, Jonathan Goodwin, and Wyatt West; both of TN, Hope Bond of MO, Brandon Bond, Miranda Bond, Briana Bond, Kelsey Finley, Tyler Finley, and Jacky Whittemore; all of TN. She had 9 great-grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive.

The family has chosen cremation honoring her wishes. Burial will be in the Jackson - Whetstone Cemetery (Perry Jackson Family Cemetery) in the Fairview Community in Jackson County, TN during a private burial. A Celebration of Life is planned for 2:00 pm Sunday, June 11th, 2023 at Rosewood Chapel in Gainesboro, TN. Woodbury Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
