Gary DeBerry, 65, of Murfressboro passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021 at Stonescrest Medical Center. A native of Detroit, MI and a beloved member of the Leanna Community.
He is survived by his mother, Sepal Mathis DeBerry of Murfreesboro; his children, Shannon (Korie) DeBerry and Jason (Brook) DeBerry of Murfreesboro, April (Jordan) Pack of Auburntown; grandchildren, Logan (Ashley) DeBerry, Mason and Abby DeBerry, Elora Pack; great granddaughter, Leighton Rose; brother, Norris (Karen) DeBerry of Clarksville; uncle and best friend, Cordell (Pat) Mathis of Smyrna.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie DeBerry and his wife, Melissa DeBerry.
A member of the Walter Hill Church of Christ, Gary was a lifelong salesman and business owner of The Toy Store (Auto and Farm Equipment) and Mid-South Boat and Motor Co. He enjoyed collecting automotive and antique memorabilia. He restored many muscle cars over the years. Many of his weekends, he spent drag racing, going to auctions, camping or traveling to the Smokey Mountains.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2021 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Norwood officiating. Interment will follow in Wood Cemetery. Pallbearers include Logan and Mason DeBerry, James Barrett, Lynn Buttrey, Mike James and Wayne Allen. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Sadler and Charles Haley.
Visitation with his family will be from 4 pm until 8 pm Friday, February 19, 2021.
