David Wayne Helton

David Wayne Helton, 89, of Woodbury passed away Monday, February 9, 2026 at St. Thomas Rutherford. Born in Cannon Co., he was the son of the late Frank and Jewell Green Helton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great grandson, Lincoln Blair and siblings, Jean Young, Howard Helton and Don Helton.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margie Witty Helton of Woodbury; his daughters, Michele (Bo) Asbury and Sonia (Tony) Brown both of Woodbury; grandchildren, Jarred (Ali) Asbury, Justin (Meredith) Asbury, Britta (Justin) Phillips, Lauren (Joshua) Blair and Hunter (Abbey) Brown; great grandchildren, Aubrey Phillips, Kelby Phillips, Hallie Blair, Grayson Asbury, Luci Asbury, Olivia Blair, Charlie Asbury, Ada Asbury, Lennon Brown and Walker Blair.

A member of Midway Church of Christ, Wayne was retired from AEDC where he was a String Guage Technician. He had many hobbies that he loved including, making rocking chairs, fishing, playing guitar and participating in Ham Radio activities.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Riverside Gardens. Bro. Brian Pitts will officiate his service. Pallbearers include Jarred Asbury, Justin Asbury, Justin Phillips, Joshua Blair and Hunter Brown.
