Charlotte Gail (Cox) Fitts

Charlotte Gail Cox Fitts, 71, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025 at her home. Born in McMinnville, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Maggie Basham Cox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Joseph Smith and her siblings, Lloyd Cox, Seabert Cox, Betty Myers, Joe Cox, Paul Cox, Donald Ross Cox, Mary Bunch, Allen Cox and Wayne Cox.

She is survived by her children, Bernard Donald Johnson, Jr. (Kay) and Marsha Johnson Smith both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Ashley (Jeffery) Steakley, Cody (Kyrsten) Johnson, Michelle (Alfonso) Hernandez, Cara (Cam) Drake, Alexis Melton (Brittany Blair), and Caleb (Cassie) Johnson, 19 great grandchildren; siblings, Lena Sue (Herbert) Perryman, Edna Hayes, Carolyn Lucille Bunch, Barbara (Ronnie) George and Rickey (Mary Ann) Cox. Her special friend, James Nelson also survives.

A member of the Centertown Church of Christ, she was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant. She enjoyed antiquing and fishing. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday, April 29, 2025 beginning at 11:00 A.M. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 P.M in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Northcutt officiating. Interment will follow in the Unity cemetery.
