Thelma Alice Rains

Thelma Alice Rains, age 89, passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at Woodbury Health and Rehabilitation Center in Woodbury, TN.  She was born in Cannon County to her parents, Homer and Bertha Sadler Rains. Miss Rains was a long-time resident of Davidson County.

She is survived by two brothers, Roy Rains and Clark Rains both of Bradyville, TN. And her sister, Cora Jean Duke of Bradyville, TN.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Rains; nephews, Gayle Rains, Tommy Rains, Randy Rains and Rustin Means; her niece, Rhonda Rains Wright.

She was employed as a Secretary with the State of Tennessee and Tennessee Department of Transportation until her retirement.  A member of the Smith Grove Church of Christ, she enjoyed spending time with family and going on vacation to Florida and The Great Smokey Mountains.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Saturday, January 11, 2020 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Al Bugg officiating.  Interment will follow in the Midway Cemetery.  Pallbearers include, Jackie Rains, Teddy Rains, Jonathan Hall, Anthony Reed, Brian Reed and Ronnie Hall. Visitation with the family will be Friday, January 10, 2020 from 4 pm until 8 pm and Saturday until the time of service.
