Lou Davis, or “Granny” as all her family and closest friends affectionately called her, was a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother.  She was also one of the best mothers-in-law God ever made.  She was always about business of serving others her entire life.

She stepped into the role as a caregiver at an early age after the death of her mother and continued to do just that until the end.  She cared for others, putting her heart & soul into everything she did. Whether it was preparing a feast to take to the field for her husband & sons, baking a wedding or birthday cake for a family member, or baking a coconut cake for just about everyone she knew who’d lost a loved one and taking it to the funeral home.  Granny was always thinking of others.  Her tireless preparation for family holiday get togethers was unmatched and the “egg” tree at Easter was a one-of-a-kind!

Her love for the Lord and her family was the driving force of her life and anyone that knew her was touched by it forever.  Hospitality was an important part of her Christian walk, and she opened her home to family, friends and “newcomers” on a regular basis when she was able, providing a dinner experience not soon forgotten! She was a blessing to us all for nearly 98 years and she leaves with us a legacy of love, family, faith and some pretty big shoes to fill for which we will be forever grateful.
