Kyle Hamilton Travis

It is with tremendous grief that the family of Kyle Hamilton Travis announce his passing on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at the age of 39 years. Kyle is survived and forever remembered by his father, John Travis of Murfreesboro,Uncles and Aunts, Robert and Shirley Travis of Murfreesboro and Larry and Debbie Harris of Hendersonville; First cousins,  Ashley Harris and Scott Harris both of Nashville;  countless friends also survive. Kyle was preceded in passing by his loving mother Sandra Harris Travis; grandparents, John B. and Lucy King Travis, Bragg and Pearl Todd Harris.

Kyle attended Franklin Road Academy, Ezell-Harding Christian Academy and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He was previously employed by Wiggs, Haun and Bohan in Nashville, TN.

A fervent music and sports fan, Kyle attended concerts and games all across the country and became a staple in the local music and sports scenes, his long blond hair, big smile, and humorous t-shirts a welcome sight for fans, performers, and athletes alike. He was particularly passionate about professional wrestling and the Vanderbilt Commodores, attending an untold number of games with his father. Not even a broken ankle and being confined to a wheelchair could keep Kyle and his dad from the ‘Dores’ 2014 College World Series Championship victory. 

Along with his fervor for sports and music, Kyle held a strong love for people and the friendships that followed. With a quick wit and a quicker chuckle, Kyle’s friendships were innumerable and growing, still, even at the time of his passing. He will be remembered for his humor, humility, loyalty and, perhaps most of all, his infectious good nature. He will be grieved for a time. He will be remembered for all time. 

A visitation in memory of Kyle will be held on Monday, February 19, from 1 - 3 pm  Woodbury Funeral Home, 504 West Main Street, Woodbury, TN. A brief service and interment in the family plot will follow at nearby Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Barnett, Chase Breland, Jon Burr, Scott Harris, Cole Kiracofe, Trent Norman, David Strunk, and Chris Stuart.

A memorial event is being planned and will be held at a later date in Nashville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to,
