Jo Ann Shelton Obituary

Jo Ann Shelton, age 77, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at Centennial Medical Center. She was born in Opp, Alabama to her parents, the late Gaston Suggs and Gladys Culpepper Suggs. 

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Joe L. Shelton of Murfreesboro; children, Penny Forstel of Murfreesboro and Paul (Tonia) Hollandsworth of Artesia, NM; grandchildren, Tracee Lowe, Jason LaFever, Jeremy Parker, Chris (Nina) Forstel, Chelsea Forstel, Miranda Rains, Clay Hollandsworth, Austin, Dakota, and Brittni Hollandsworth; sisters, Ann Hilliard of Kinston, Alabama, Juanita Precott of Maynardville, TN, Wanda Taylor, Linda Bailey, and Iris Darby all of Florida; also surviving are 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her children, Rhonda Rains Wright and Randy Rains. 

She was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Smyrna. Mrs. Shelton was also the owner and operator of Jo Ann's Village Greenhouse. Jo Ann was dearly loved and will be sorely missed. She loved Jesus, all the kids, and was a mom to everyone she met. She enjoyed painting, a good nice firm bed, good shoes, and good food. 

Funeral services will be 10 AM Monday, August 12, 2019 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Hollandsworth and Bro. Carlos Sadler. Interment will follow in Cherry Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 8 PM Sunday, August 11, 2019.
