George James Whittle

George James Whittle, age 71, of Bradyville passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019 at St. Thomas Stones River E/R.  He was a native of Erlangen, Germany.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Bowman Whittle of Bradyville; Son, George James Whittle II of Nanticoke, PA; Grandchildren, Parker James Sears of White House & Alex Avery of Nanticoke, PA; Father- & Mother-in-law, Keith & Anita Bowman; and Brothers- & Sisters-in-law, Charlie (Cynthia) Bowman, Bill Bowman, & Pam (Michael) O'Hara.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Maria Breitenlohner Hoffman; Daughter, Angelina Diane Whittle Sears; and Sister, Wilhemina Deitzen.

Mr. Whittle was a school teacher, principal, & coached almost every sport including baseball, basketball, tennis, track, & football.  He was an all-state coach for basketball, baseball, football, & track in Alabama and was the state champion for badminton.  Mr. Whittle was a true athlete in every sense of the word.

Memorial Services will be 6 PM Friday, May 3, 2019 at Midway Church of Christ with Bro. Charlie Bowman & Bro. Bryan Pitts officiating.  Visitation with the family will be from 3 to 6 PM Friday, May 3, 2019 at Midway Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
