Evelyn (Duke) Herndon

Evelyn Duke Herndon, age 91, passed away March 2, 2019 at NHC of Murfreesboro.  She was born February 22, 1928 in Woodbury, Tennessee.  Her parents were the late Ruby Marie Hibdon Duke and James Newton Duke.  Mrs. Herndon was a resident of Donelson, Tennessee, before moving to Murfreesboro in May of 2016.  She was a retired Accountant from American General where she worked for 37 years.  She was a member of the Ivy Bluff Methodist Church and the Donelson Senior Center where she received the DSC Spirit Award Star Spangled Salute on March 16, 2006.  She was also a member of the Homemaker’s Club, and Music City Quilt Guild.  She loved knitting, cross stitching, crafts, yard sales, and auctions.  She is preceded in death by her husband William Daniel Herndon and sisters, Louise Duke and Audrey Loveless.  She is survived by her brother-in-law, Curtis Loveless and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM March 16, 2019 at The Rutherford Assisted Living & Memory Care (formerly Sunnington Assisted Living) and will be officiated by Bro. Herb Alsup.  Interment will follow at Ivy Bluff Cemetery in Cannon Co.
