Curtis trained me in Communications activities at State Farm when I first started working there. He was smart and fun! I learned a lot from him and had lots of laughs with him as well. I am so sorry to hear of his illness and passing. Knowing Curtis, he's already got the Angels laughing and enjoying his poems. God bless you Curtis and all of his family.

Marvin and family, I'm so sorry for your loss! Curtis was a co-worker and mentor during my DP days with State Farm. More than that, though, he was a friend. I sat right behind him for a while when he tried to train me on paying the phone bills. Whew, that was a process but Curtis made it fun! I loved his dry sense of humor and will always remember our crazy conversations that helped me get through the day!

Please know that you are all in my prayers during this tough time. And I pray you can feel God's gentle hands wrapped tightly around you as you work your way through this.

Dear Marvin & Family, I did not write the following message. It is something I found and printed off to keep in my bible. I am so sorry for your loss. Love, Tammy Duffy

Sometimes some things happen and we just don’t understand. Sometimes it may seem like life just doesn’t make sense. Why does God allow bad things to happen? Why does God miraculously heal some people and not heal others? Why does God miraculously save some people from disaster, and not save others? Why do some good people live to 100, while other good people die so young? Why do natural disasters happen? Why are Christians being persecuted all over the world? Why does it seem like God is allowing people to get away with evil? Or we may have our own personal battles we are facing… Why would our loving God allow bad things to happen? Why does it seem like God is taking so long to answer our prayers for something that is so obviously good – like a child, a spouse, or healing? Why does it seem like God is taking so long to come to our rescue? Why would our all powerful, loving, caring God allow our loved one to be taken away?
We may question God in our confusion, hurt and pain, wondering, Why God? We may ask – God, what are you doing? As we weep, as we mourn, and as we ask why… we do not fully understand, but we are not hopeless, because we know we serve a living God whose love for us is far greater than our comprehension. We are hopeful, and we are comforted – because even though we do not yet understand, God does. And God is on our side

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one. Losing a loved one is like a sharp blow. It causes a great deal of pain but God promises that soon death, pain, sorrow and tears from sadness will be done away with. (Revelation 21:4). Along with this promise is the one at John 5:28 where all those in the memorial tombs will be resurrected. We can trust in these promises because God can not lie.(Titus 1:2)

I was a carpool girl back in the day. I remember Curtis as a young son of yours and of course knew him later when he started working at State Farm. I am so sorry for his passing but it seems he is in a much better place now. Marvin I remember you being a man of God and I know that will be your strength. Prayers for your whole family.
