Billy Joe Melton

Billy Joe Melton, age 81, passed away Friday, February 2 at St. Thomas Dekalb. He was a native of Cannon County. 

Survivors include his sister, Daisy Melton Ferrell of Nashville. 

Mr. Melton was preceded in death by his parents, Edd & Hannah Ferrell Melton; Sisters, Febbie Melton Piper, Goldie Melton Crips, Christine Melton Neal; and brother, Norman Brown Melton. 

Mr. Melton was a member of the Baptist Church and was a farmer. He done lots of hard work throughout his life and was an honest person. He will be greatly missed. 

Funeral services will be in the 12 PM Wednesday. February 7 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Brother Donald Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Gunter-Grizzle Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 12 PM until 7 PM Tuesday, February 6 and 10 AM until time of service Wednesday, February 7.
