Alice Joyce (Hayes) Lane

Alice Joyce Hayes Lane, 79, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020 at the home of her son in Murfreesboro. She was a born in Cannon Co., to her parents, James Alva Hayes and Corrine Turney Hayes.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Machael Lane of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Brandon (Kathy) Wichern of Goose Creek, S.C., Tiffany (Sean) Carney of Madison, Benjamin Wichern of Murfreesboro and Shelby (Zach) Wilcox of Cadiz, KY. and her brother, James (Judy) Hayes of Woodbury. 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
 
Ms. Lane was preceded in death by her parents, James Alva Hayes and Corrine Turney Hayes; her husband, Jerry Lane; son, Jeffery Lynn Lane and sister, JoAnn George.
 
A member of Ivy Bluff United Methodist Church, Joyce worked at Colonial Corp and retired from MTSU where she worked in the Acquisition department and the library. She enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking. 
 
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Mitchell, Rev. Pete Grayum and Bro. Frelan George officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sycamore cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 2 pm – 8 pm Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 and Sunday until time of service.
