Jerry H. Hayes

Jerry H. Hayes, 71, of Woodbury passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024 at St. Thomas Stones River Hospital. Born in Coffee Co., he was the son of the late Adam and Syrene Smith Hayes.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathy Cook Hayes of Woodbury; his children, Heather (Clint) Scott of Rock Island and Jason Hayes of OH.; grandchildren, Maya and Liam Scott of Rock Island, Connor Hayes of OH. and Maggie Hayes of Kittrell; daughter-in-law, tommie Hayes of Kittrell; siblings, Linda Wilson of Murfreesboro and Bobby (Betty) Hayes of Woodbury. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Newburn Hayes, Norman Hayes, Ronald Hayes, Margaret Hayes, Edwin Hayes and Barbara Hayes.

Mr. Hayes attended Mt. Moriah Baptist church where he served as a deacon. He was retired from Federal Mogul and enjoyed antiquing.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 24, 2024 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Nick Pelham and Bro. Leonard Herman officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Gardens cemetery. Pallbearers include Chad Hayes, Cody Hayes, Chad Hale, Scott South, Adam Hayes and Alan Hayes.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. and Sunday from 11:00 A.M. until his time of service.
