Ella Frances (Mears) Tosh

Ella Frances (Mears) Tosh, best known to family and friends as “Sister”, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 after a life long illness.  She was 69.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Paul Mears, her mother, Minnie Frances (Merritt) Mears, her husband, Robert “Bobby” Tosh, her brother, Jerry Wayne Merritt, Sr. and a nephew, Jerry Wayne Merritt, Jr. 

She is survived by her niece, Paula Frances Merritt, one nephew, Terry Merritt and one sister-in-law, Karen (Cosner) Heath.  Several great nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Ella was born on July 16, 1954, in Murfreesboro, TN where she worked several years at Samsonite after graduating high school.  After marrying, she moved to Woodbury, TN. where she lived most of her adult life.

Ella had many talents and hobbies including sewing, cross stitch, growing flowers, making jewelry, and collecting.  She loved decorating her home for the holidays, especially Christmas.  Her and Bobby were not blessed with children but considered their Jack Russell puppies her babies.

Graveside services will be 4:00 P.M. Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Riverside Gardens cemetery. Her visitation will begin at 2:00 P.M. until 3:45 P.M.
