William Arland Van Winkle, 79, passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 at his home in Lascassas.  He was a native of Cumberland Co., TN.  

He is survived by his children, Tammy Hughes of Woodbury and Troy (Maria) Van Winkle of Lascassas; Grandchildren, Jeb (Taylor) Hughes of Loganville, GA. and Caleb Hughes of Murfreesboro; siblings, Jan Lawson of Crossville, Judy Carter of El Paso, TX., Jackie Van Winkle of Murfreesboro, Steve Van Winkle of Fosterville and Donna Jean Hodge of Bradyville.

Mr. Van Winkle was preceded in death by his parents, Archie & Lillie Bolin Van Winkle and his wife, Nora Ann Brawner Van Winkle.

William was retired from Murfreesboro Water and Sewer.  He was a member of the Baptist church and the American Water Work Assoc.  He enjoyed fishing, wood and leather working.  Mr. Van Winkle was also a veteran of the United States Navy.  

Funeral services will be 10 am Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Nichols officiating.  Interment will follow at 12:30 pm in the Van Winkle Cemetery, Clifty, TN.  Visitation with the family will be from 4 pm until 8 pm Thursday.
